1. General Information

Welcome to Alley Cat Meadows! We sell seeds intended for lawful purposes only. By purchasing from our store, you agree to the policies outlined below. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

We reserve the right to update or modify these policies at any time without prior notice.

2. Seed Use & Legal Disclaimer

All seeds sold by Alley Cat Meadows are sold as souvenirs, collectibles, or for lawful agricultural, educational, or research purposes.

It is the customer’s responsibility to:

  • Know and comply with all local, state, and federal laws

  • Ensure seeds are legal to possess, import, and grow in your area

We are a registered and inspected business under the Alabama Department of Agriculture, but we do not provide legal advice and are not responsible for the misuse of our products.

3. Germination Disclaimer

Seeds are natural products, and germination rates may vary due to:

  • Growing conditions

  • Soil quality

  • Climate

  • Storage

  • Grower experience

Because we cannot control how seeds are stored or grown after delivery, we do not guarantee germination or crop success unless specifically stated otherwise.

4. Ordering & Payment

  • All prices are listed in USD

  • Orders must be paid in full before shipment

  • We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion (full refund issued if payment was received)

5. Shipping Policy

  • Orders are typically processed within 2–5 business days

  • Shipping times vary based on destination and carrier

  • Delivery estimates are not guaranteed

Once an order has been shipped:

  • Alley Cat Meadows is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs, or weather

  • We are not responsible for lost or seized packages due to customs or local regulations

6. International Orders

  • Seeds are available to the continental United States of America only

7. Returns & Refunds

Due to the nature of seeds, all sales are final unless:

  • The order arrived damaged

  • The wrong item was sent

If there is an issue with your order:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery

  • Include your order number and photos

Approved refunds or replacements will be issued at our discretion.

8. Cancellations

Orders may only be canceled before shipment. Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be canceled.

9. Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. Personal information is only used to process orders and communicate with customers. We do not sell or share your information with third parties.

Dahlia Tuber Policies & Guarantee

Thank you for supporting our small Alabama farm! Your happiness is important to us. Please read our policies carefully to ensure the best experience with your dahlia tubers.

1. Tuber Guarantee

We guarantee that your dahlia tubers will:

  1. Be true to the variety you ordered.

  2. Arrive with at least one healthy eye.

  3. Have a robust tuber body suitable for planting.

Inspection & Reporting: Please inspect your tubers upon arrival. Report any concerns (damage, missing tubers, or obvious defects) within 48 hours by emailing us at [alleycatmeadows@gmail.com] with photos and your order number. After 3 days, you accept full responsibility for your tubers.

Growth Concerns: If tubers fail to sprout after planting, contact us by July 1 of the same growing season with photos before disposing of the tuber.

Remedy: For valid concerns, we may provide:

  • Replacement of the same variety (if available)

  • Farm credit

  • Refund (excluding shipping costs)

2. Mislabeling / Variety Issues

We carefully label all tubers. However, if your dahlia blooms and is not the variety you ordered:

  1. Email us photos of the tuber and bloom along with your order.

  2. We will review the issue and offer a replacement (if available) or refund.

3. Virus Policy

All fields and tubers are inspected and approved by the Alabama Department of Agriculture. We:

  • Cull suspicious plants

  • Sanitize tools

  • Use organic pest control

However, virus in dahlias is sometimes unavoidable due to natural insect transmission and the susceptible genetics of dahlias themselves. By purchasing, you accept this risk. Virus presence is not considered a defect and is not eligible for refund or replacement.

4. Shipping Policies (2025)

  • Carrier: USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate

  • Shipping Area: Continental USA only (excluding California, Colorado,and Washington State due to state agricultural policies)

  • Shipping Window: To Be Determined (weather permitting; possible Fall Early Sale depending on frost dates)

  • Cost: Flat rate of $20 per order, regardless of quantity

  • Combined Shipping: Limited. Multiple orders cannot be combined unless the total order is $200+ shipped to the same address

Shipping Damage or Loss: Report damage or lost packages promptly with photos and tracking info. We will assist with carrier claims and provide replacements or refunds when applicable.

5. Local Pickup

Local buyers may choose pickup at checkout. We will notify you when your order is ready. Once order is ready you will have 7 days to verify pickup. If order is not retrieved with 7 days of ready notification, the order will not be refunded. Tubers need to be stored appropriately and Alley Cat Meadows will no longer remain the responsible party for tuber health after 7 days has passed.

6. Order Confirmation & Cancellations

  • Orders are confirmed only after checkout is complete and you receive a confirmation email.

  • Orders may be cancelled within 48 hours of placement for a full refund. After this window, orders are final and cannot be changed.

  • We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order during quality checks before shipping.

7. Purchase Limits & Substitutions

  • Certain varieties have purchase limits per household to ensure fair availability.

  • Attempts to bypass limits via multiple accounts may result in cancellation and refund of all orders.

  • If a variety becomes unavailable after your order, we do not offer substitutions but will refund affected tubers.

8. Customer Responsibility & Communication

  • We strive to provide excellent service and high-quality tubers.

  • Customers must communicate respectfully. Abusive or threatening messages may result in order cancellation and refund.

  • Proper storage and planting care are the customer’s responsibility. Damage from negligence, pests, weather, or improper handling is not eligible for replacement or refund.
